We would like to cordially invite you and your family to the national celebration of Vijaya Dashami,  going to be organized on Thursday, October 6^th 2011 in Amsterdam. The program will be organized by the Nepalese Community in the Netherlands (NRNNL) in cooperation with and participation of the Embassy of Nepal, Nepal Development Academy, Nepal Music Foundation and Nepali Jana Samparka Samiti Netherlands.

Vijaya Dashimi is the most important and meaningful festival of Nepalese people. The main purpose of this festival is the victory of good over evil. It is also known as the festival of strength and power. Since Goddess Durga killed the demon called Maishasur in an ancient time, de Nepalese and Hindu religious all over the world are celebrating Dashain festival. People take tika and jamara from the elders and receive their blessing.

The Vijaya Dashain program will be organized with its religious and cultural significance. You will receive tika, jamara and blessing by elder(s)/respected community member(s). Many professional artists will performed their musical and dance arts during the day and evening. The delicious Nepali dinner will be served.

Vereniging van Nepalezen in Nederland (NRNNL)
De vereniging Non-Resident Nepali is een landelijke belangenorganisatie van Nepalezen in Nederland en is opgericht in december 2005. De vereniging richt zich niet alleen op de belangenbehartiging van Nepalezen, maar op cultuuroverdracht, uitwisseling en samenwerking. Verder zet NRNNL zich in voor een betere integratie van de in Nederland woonachtige Nepalezen in de Nederlandse samenleving.  NRNNL staat bekend als een gemeenschappelijke forum van Nepalezen in Nederland.
